Hi everyone, I've been feeling a bit down lately and I had my lumpectomy on 2/16. Being my first ever surgery everything went well other than during the needle localization I pretty much fainted while the needle was sticking out so that caused a little drama - nurse was called in, gave me IV fluids and after about 30 mins when my blood pressure came back up and she said I was ok then the radiologist continued with the procedure.

Anyway I picked up my path rpt today - just from the hosp lab dept so I haven't talked to my dr yet but from what I can as it's good news / bad news. I see the DCIS dx hasn't changed so that's good news but it appears all margins are not clear. All but one margin say Negative for Malignancy. The one margin that does not state Negative, instead says Focus of Residual Ductal Carcinoma In Situ, 0.1 cm from new lateral margin. Can anyone tell me if this looks like I'll need a re excision? I see my dr on Wednesday but I like to be as informed as possible. Thank you so much for your time and info.
