So I am finished 11 sessions of my 21 day rads schedule and my lungs feel....like I was outside skiing all day or in the cold. Is this normal? Been like that for past two days Go back Monday for 5 treatments then 5 booster.

Thanks,

T.

Toni, you should definitely talk w/ your RO, either this weekend (use the after hours number - it's for times such as this) or first thing, well before treatment, Monday.

    Take care.

Ok, thanks so much Hopeful. I will call the nurses line on Monday and see what they say.

Okay, now we need to know what they said, Toni! I'll be starting rads in a couple of weeks to my chest wall and am concerned about my lungs, too.

    Hi barbe1958,

They told me that it wouldn't be related to my radiation. I actually feel better now. It was just a few days I felt like that. I know some people develop a dry cough and I was thinking maybe it was just things getting really dry in my system or I was on the verge of a cold. I didn't get a cold and all is fine now except for the itching skin! The cream doesn't help the itching but the salt water saline they have you prepare and use several times a day really helps. One last all over breast treatment today and then onto my booster next week.

Good luck with your radiation Barb. I hope all goes well.

Glad to hear the good news, Toni. Hmmm, don't know how I could put saline on my chest, armpit and neck several times a day as I'll be at work! Missed the call from the RO today and have left two messages for him to call me back before the weekend. I'm anxious to know when my appointments start. Good luck to you, too!

    Hi barbe1958,

I put the salt water in a sterilized thermos and bring my gauze packs all with me to work. I just go into the bathroom for ten mins and set it on the area that's been bothering me, not the entire area that's been radiated. I put one on before I go to work, when I get home from work and then before bed. Just space them out. My phone nstructions said to do this 3-4 times a day for 5 mins. You may get different instructions though. All the best Barb.

Thanks Toni, that makes sense. I don't have a bra to hold it on, but I'll figure something out.
