Growing Lung Nodule

Options

I had a CT scan last July and a lung nodule was found as well as some pericardial thickening. Today I got the results of my CT scan and the lung nodule grew from 6mm to 1.5 CM. The CT report said it's concerning for metastasis. The report also said there is an interval increase in the focal lentiform anterior pericardial thickening of 10 mm (was 4-5 mm previously). My MO put in stat orders for a consultation with a Pulmonologist.

Here is my question. Has anyone ever had a growing lung nodule that turned out to be something other than metastasis? I'm hoping someone can come along and say, "Yes."

Thanks in advance for all responses.

    Hi

I wanted to respond--- I did have a lung nodule that was 6mm and was followed, then ultimately it disappeared. So, no, not the same. BUT, I had a fabulous pulmonologist who taught me a lot about lung disease even thought I did not have it. Talk to the pulmonologist, this could still be just a nodule- and if it is not, you will be amazed at what they can do! Best of luck

I have a 6 mm nodule that was found after sx and before I started chemo. Too small to see what it is so MO said after chemo will do a CT scan. Early March I'll have the CT scan. If it's gone, it could be or not be mets. If it's there looking the same then not mets. So I'm kind of hanging too now though a bit different than your situation.

Momand2kids, Thank you for your response. I'm happy to hear that your nodule disappeared!! That is awesome news. I appreciate the encouragement. I have an appointment with a Pulmonologist on Thursday.

Artista928, Sending best wishes to you on your scans! I'm hoping it's totally gone on your next scan. Thank you for sharing your info.
