Hospitals getting Dignicaps

Hi. Now that the FDA has approved Dignicaps I was wondering if anyone knows what hospitals will be receiving the machines and when. The website states that the information will be coming soon but wondering if anyone on the board has some inside news. Thank you.

l haven't heard anything yet, Joni. I was thinking it will be a while due to all of the "red tape". The Rapunzel Project would probably have info.

Thank you for the update. Seems like hospitals in Florida are now signing on. Found out that Weill Cornell (a trial site) and New York Presbyterian will be awhile yet.

My understanding is that all capping systems - DigniCap, Paxman, etc., are covered by the FDA approval, so there may be facilities offering Paxman rather than DigniCap, although I think DC is the better known in North America, which may give it an edge. As far as I'm concerned, widespread availability can only benefit women and I hope some of the cancer support groups will get behind this issue quickly.

Paxman seems to have worse results than Dignicap.

Yes, I've read about some issues (and some workarounds, too). However, I think both are easier than Penguins and any of the above would be a better choice than nothing at all.

I e-mailed a hospital in trials with Paxman. Was told they assign you randomly to Paxman group versus no capping (1 to 1 ratio). They said they are using better clips now but users lose around 20 ro 30% of their hair, mostly at the crown.
