Hi I am trying to figure out this message board while getting information an support. I will be starting treatment next week port will be inserted on Friday. The current treatment plan is one month of a combination of Adriamycin and Cytoxin. That will be followed by four months of Taxol. Then followed by radiation therapy. I never dreamed my biopsy would be positive and feel guilty as hell putting this on my husband's shoulders. When should I shave my head, I do not want to watch it fall out again. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Sorry to find you here. I had AC 4 x every 2 weeks. My hair started coming out in handfuls about 2 weeks after the first dose. The biggest issue I had on AC is nausea. Take the nausea pills on schedule even if you feel fine for a few days after chemo. And drink tons of water especially the first 48-72 hours which is the time it takes for chemo to leave your body. You want it out asap. Good luck. :)

    Connie,

I shaved my head about 10 days after the first infusion of A/C. My scalp hurt.

Try not to feel guilty. Not your fault. If he had to go through treatment, you would be by his side.

Chemo is no picnic, but it ends.

I needed to help my kids transition, so I got a pixie cut 9 days after the first infusion. 14 days after infusion my hair started shedding like post-partum shedding. The next day I was pulling out chunks. My husband buzzed it with the #2 clippers and that was that. I didn't go completely bald. Probably have 5-10% of my hair.
