Mole in the irradiated area

I have a mole located in the irradiated area. Is this dangerous? Is there any risk this mole to become irritated or turn into cancer? Have you heard anything about this? Is there anyone else with a mole located in the area that was radiated?

Talk with your Dr and see a Dermatogjst about the 'mole'. Was it there prior to rads? No one here can tell you what 'it' might/might not be. Only a Dr who actually sees you and has your medical information can tell you what is/might be going on.

My dermatologist wants to see me yearly since I've had rads. I would check with a dermatologist just so they can record what it looks like now to monitor closely for changes down the road.

Yep, it was there before the rads. It' on my collarbone and I did not know it will be in the radiated area. I just realised this yesterday when I saw the redness from the rads. It's at the very end of it.

    P.S

I was on my annual dermatology check 6 months ago, but I'll go asap.

Please check with your dermatologist, however, the rads may cause the mole to disappear. Rads were once used on acne patients until they realized the long term possible effects. Once your skin has recovered from the rads, it may be clear from all blemishes.

I have dozens of moles and - over the years - I've had a few removed because they looked a bit "iffy" to my dermatologist. It's always wise to keep on eye on them, whether- or not you've had radiation (which I've also had). During by annual physical, my GP always does a full-body check of all my moles ("mole mapping", he calls it) and, when needed, I'm referred to a dermatologist for a second opinion.

Тhanks! I've already visited a dermatologist. Everything is OK, at least for now
