Aurora MRI - Locations?

Hello all,

I had a mammogram last week that revealed a cluster of 5 micro calcifications they now want to biopsy. (Posting this in DCIS forum since I assume that's what they would be looking for.)

Had a very bad experience five years ago with a mammo that resulted in FIVE biopsies and lots of money spent only to be told that I had a very small area of atypical lobular hyperplasia. The two stereotactic biopsies were so -- let's just say traumatic -- that it took me five years to work up the nerve to do last week's mammo.

I'm a researcher by nature, so I've come across info on the Aurora MRI. Can anyone tell me where to see the locations for these machines? I've found one in Knoxville, TN but was hoping there might be one a little closer to home. When I google Aurora MRI with my city, though, I don't get any hits.

If you've had an Aurora MRI, where was it done?

Thanks!

It looks like this company may now be bankrupt - so this is potentially not a widely used machine manufacturer, but have you checked with the breast center at Vanderbilt? I assume you are in Nashville based on your member name, they are an NCI center.  I too did a Google search and found a forum on which someone had spoken with Dr. Michael Lagios, DCIS expert, about this machine specifically - she indicates the answer she received was that dedicated breast MRI machines are comparable.  You could also look for breast imaging specific facilities - this is the type where I had my hollow core needle biopsy and following mammogram, and pre-surgical MRI - breast imaging is all they do.
