I knew this was gunna happen yes.. but its a whole other feeling now that its here I'm not a girly girl by any means but I've alwaays taken pride in my hair and my eye lashes lol so this is very hard for me.. I feel ugly and honestly kind of scared, I know I will get over this and there is strength in my struggle but I'm really upset about this 😞 just in time for Valentine's day too lol I hate love.. I pretty much hate everything right now..

Motherofboys, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. So many of us have, and it is one of the hardest things, whether we're girly-girls or tomboys. You have every right to be upset. It helped me to get a buzz cut when it started falling out, so I had some control over the process. I got a pretty wig and that helped, too.
If you scroll a little farther down on the page, there is a VERY active thread called Hair, Hair, Hair, for ladies who are losing hair, dealing with wigs and caps and so forth, and growing it back.
Hugs...strength and courage....and of course Happy Valentine's Day!

Big hugs, motherofboys! I am so sorry. losing my hair was the hardest part of this ()*%()* for me also. and I am also not a girly girl but hair is important to our self-identity. I told my MO that I think I would have rather lost my breast than my hair and he told me he heard that surprisingly often...
but keep the faith. It does get better. There is a thread here:
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69/topics...
that might help....

Looks like my buddy Rain and I posted at about the same time and with similar thoughts :-)....Hope you have a happy Valentine's Day, motherofboys..

Motherofboys- it IS so hard to lose your hair- cancer stinks! But, you CAN do this! The hair thread is a really one that might be of help and provide a lot of support. I see Rain and Octogirl have said that as well. We stand with you! Sending you hugs and strength.

Motherofboys, we're so sorry you're feeling sad about this terrible side effect of chemo. Just know that there are so many other members here who "get it" and you're not alone!
We're all here for you to share the love this valentine's day. Much love to you!!
Edited to add: You may want to check out the incredible members and the great support in the Hair, Hair, Hair thread -- what a lovely group who support each other through hair loss, wigs, hair growth and beyond!
