A few words of reassurance for those with new diagnoses

Hi all! I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2015 - DCIS on the left, and then, two weeks later, invasive on the right (stage 1). I wasn't sure how I'd survive the terror and grief, especially when the hits felt like they just kept on coming. I'm posting now to let you know that, 9 months, two surgeries, and a bunch of radiation and medical pill treatments later, LIFE IS GOOD. I've lost weight, joined some new social groups, I go out more, play more with my kid, go on more dates with the spouse, hang out with friends more. I know how hard it is to believe that life can go on when you're in the thick of new diagnoses, but indeed it can. And life can absolutely be good.

For those that need to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel: YES THERE IS. And you'll get there.

    Good luck to all!
