Chemo was rough on my skin. Are you on Cytoxan? I noticed that made my face feel tight and dry. So I asked the nurses to run it slower during my subsequent transfusions. Have you used Cera Ve or Cetaphil face moisturizers? That helps so much!

LvinAZ, as you may know, most drugstore and department store brands -- even when called "natural" -- can have lots of irritants in them. I actually started a little website after my first bc dx to share truly natural products that soothe chemo and rads damaged skin. I think it's mentioned on my bio page, otherwise PM me if you're interested. I don't want it ever construed that I'm trying to sell products here, and as others know, I give away far more than I sell. But your question is so aimed at what I experienced and why I started that resource, I had to jump in. In fact, one of the brands -- Peak Scents -- which you can also get on their own website -- is made in AZ & NM, and really ideal for our desert (I'm just a few hours west, near Palm Desert) conditions, which certainly make moisturizing harder, even without chemo and/or estrogen robbing meds. I use pure, unrefined, organic shea butter. Non-comodogenic (or like 1 on the scale). It's also very close to what is produced with our own subaceous glands, so good for sensitive skin. Very hard to find good quality though. I found most of the stuff on the market has been refined to get rid of the stink and is lacking in skin nutrients. Don't use it if you have a nut allergy.

Chemo wrecked my skin also. Windburned, is a good way to describe it! I tried all kinds of things, but then someone gave me a small pack of the Lindi Skin chemo skin care regimen. Oh my goodness, after only a few days of using it my skin was so much better. It's ridiculously expensive (and I never would have shelled out the money to try it if someone hadn't given me it), but it worked so well that after my small bottles ran out I shelled out money for the full size. http://www.lindiskin.com/chemo-basic-collection The full size bottles lasted many months.
