future screening

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but....wondering what you are receiving for recommendations on screening for breast cancer in the unaffected breast?

I had yearly mammograms(always called "normal"), but that did not matter. Lump was felt in left which I had mastectomy done in December (IDC, ILC) (I was told by oncologist cancer was there for about 5 years, but missed on mammo due to fibrocystic disease)I was never offered ultrasound or MRI. Not sure if I trust mammograms anymore. But my breast surgeon said MRI can miss DCIS and I should be followed with 3D mammo every 6 months and MRI every 6 months; so my

right breast is having some type of screening every 6 months. Does this sound appropriate. I am unable to find any recommendations on-line. Thank you.
