Hi All. I'm experiencing a dull bruised and sometimes throbbing area where mt breast cancer was located. Should I be concerned about it being recurrence?

Thanks!

BLS, Is this a new thing? DId it heal up with no pain, then recently start? It is not uncommon for the surgical area to feel different...the nerves and tissues are obviously not the same as before surgery. Have you had a check up recently to be able to mention it to your team? Sometimes a phone call to the Oncologists nurse can be a good thing, many times I would run a concern by her and she could say yes or no about coming in to be checked. It is impossible for us to know exactly what is going on with you, of course. In answering your question, I would think it is just the new normal for your body. But I am not medical, so if you feel like it is a change, of course check it out for piece of mind. Hugs to you and keep up udated.

Did you try to lift something heavy on that side recently? About two years after my lumpectomy, I lugged a very heavy suitcase around while travelling and managed to tear the scar tissue in my lumpectomy breast. Darn thing smarted like Billy-be-damned for a week, then simmered down. Also, I still (four years out) get occasional soreness/jabs in the area where I had lymph nodes removed; a nurse friend said that that is normal.

However, if you are concerned, have it checked out if only to ease your mind.

I've got a particular area that has always been sensitive and feels bruised and it's been going on for years.
