Left thigh pain. I hope it is nothing!

Options

hello. I have been having pain on and off in my left upper leg for 3 months. I saw my mo yesterday and he order an X-ray. I just had the X-ray done and am now waiting. I am really scared. I was dx with BC stage 2 last February and had mastectomy, chemo, radiation. I finished in the fall. I am on Tamoxifen. I also have severe neuropathy in my feet. I really want to see my kids grow up. I pray that this is nothing! Thanks for listening

I had quite a bit of thigh and hip pain shortly after I finished chemo and surgery. I also had an infusion of Zometa right after surgery and I think the pain started shortly after that. My MO ordered an xray of my hips and femurs and it was discovered that I have osteoarthritis which caused pain in the back of my thigh down to my knee. Before I got the results I was terrified that my cancer had spread while I was still being treated! The farther away I get from the Zometa infusion, the less the pain is. I hope that your x-rays shows something simple and benign. We have enough to worry about!

hi. Thank you both. So the X-ray showed a femoral neck stress fracture. They did not see a tumor or mets. My dr says it is not cancer. I do have to have a bone density test and MRI. I am also now on crutches with no weight bearing to left side. I had a lot of problems with the chemo in my legs and feet this summer including neuropathy and weakness. I think a combination of chemo, steroids, low Vit D, muscle atrophy, and chemo induced menopause contributed to this. I just pray the dr is not wrong and there is no cancer! I also hope this heals on its own and I don't need hip surgery. This has been such a long year and now going into year two on crutches. Thanks for the support

I am having the MRI tomorrow evening to look closer at this fracture. I pray they don't find any cancer! So scared but trying to remain hopeful
