It is hard to move on when the yearly tests continue?

Hi Everyone,

I am about 6.5 years post-diagnosis for Stage I IDC. I had unilateral mastectomy, no reconstruction. I have been on this bi-annual rotating schedule of mri or mammogram every 6 months. I understand we all have to get yearly mammograms, but when do the yearly MRIs (due to my dense breasts- no problems so far) stop. With my mammogram, I get my results asap. I have to wait often a week for my MRI results and its awful. I get stressed leading up to the mri date and then waiting for results.

I have my yearly MRI on Friday and was wonderful how you move past the diagnosis when you have these relapses of test worry?

Hi Lola, Do you ever have issues scheduling your MRIs or Mammograms or with getting prescription orders filled? Which hospital were you treated at and where do you get your follow up care? Thank you!

I just had a breast MRI yesterday at 10am (I don't have actual breasts anymore but I wanted a good baseline scan with my implants in). Anyway, I called the medical records department at 4pm the same da and was told the report was ready and I could pick it up. There was no doctor to go over the report (and thankfully no issues), but if you are comfortable reading it on your own it can't hurt to call and ask if the radiologist's report is available. I do this with almost every test I have done because I can't take the anxiety of waiting.

Best wishes for a clear MRI for you!
