Clinical trials

I've no idea where to post this and after searching on the site couldn't find the information I needed.

My doctor wants me to participate in a clinical trial with stem cells. I'm reading about the immunotherapy. Where can I find more information about both trials? And is there anyone who's participating now in such a trial?

Thank you

    MoreShoes,

You can find LOTS of info at clinicaltrials.gov

There are a few people here who are soon to be participating in such trials (I am one), not sure if there are some who are IN them, hoping they will chime in if they are here. Today in a waiting room I spoke to a woman with stage 4 lung cancer who has been on immunotherapy with very good results for three years!

    Mamiya,

Thank you. Look how happy we're with a three year survival :-) Oh well, when I first diagnosed with IBC, I thought I only had months to live. Tomorrow I get the results from the CT scan, let's see if I have some more months to go.

Maybe we should start a new topic/thread about the trials. This week I've appointments to discuss about it and about hyperthermia. I had already radiation twice, so I can only have hyperthermia. Yes, I'm so special (har har...*insert sarcasm* )

    Moreshoes,

I was impressed with three years for stage 4 lung cancer, that's usually a quick killer!

I expect to be around a lot longer than that.

Remind me again what chemo you are doing and what kind of trial your doc wants you on? Are you stage 4?

And yes, I am going to start a new thread about trials as soon as I go to my first infusion. This week.

    Mamiya,

I'm on Gemzar/Carbo. I don't know what stage. There was cancer in the left breast, right breast and two lymphnodes (one in the neck, one in the right armpit) affected. They were considering it one main and three metastases.

Tomorrow I'll discuss about the trial. They prefer stamcells over immunotherapy.
