So much has happened in 3 years and 9 months. First I was on this site in May of 2012, for my Stage 2 breast cancer. This site open it's arms and I felt so much support and love. It was a great resource for me.

In October 2013 my husband was diagnosed with a rare, aggreswswive cancer and was gone by Auguswt 2014 We were toged ther for 12 years and married when he became ill. From diagnosis, he was gone in 9 months.

Now I just found out today that my mother has breast cancer. She starts chemo a week from Tuesday. She lives in Nevada and I will be traveling soon to help her. Luckily she is not alone, but I am will be there in a heartbeat when she needs me. She will go to chemo once a week for 12 weeks.

I am in shock and know I need to take care of myself, while trying to be strong for her. With my husband, I went to therapy and did what I needed to do to keep myself sane, but it was still very difficult...We do not know stage or grade yet and i know that will be found out during surgery.

She is in the beginning, when you have so many unanswered questions and have to take baby steps or it gets very overwhelming. She is having trouble eating an sleeping - I've been there. I didn't need chemo, but had radiation and mastectomy. She will be going through it all.

Please pray for my mother and for her emotional comfort now. It is hard to see your mom scared and unable to control her situation.

I will be calling her daily and as time goes on, we will know more. I love my mother so much!!

You have been through so much. Your mother is fortunate to have such an amazing daughter. You will be there for her, of course, but please take that time to care for yourself too. You're not gonna be much good to her if you're not well. Prayers and hugs for your mom and for you. Have you referred her here? I'm sure it would be as helpful to her as it is for you.
