Breast cancer treatments and severe asthma

Options

I wonder if anyone else has issues with severe asthma and treatments. I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in Feb 2015. I went through chemo from April until Sept 2015. My tumor markers are all showing me to be within normal ranges and my oncologist says I am in remission. During chemo I had four hospital stays due to asthma. I know the Neulasta can cause lung issues, so thought maybe that was what caused the hospital stays. Every time I had a shot I ended up in the hospital a few days later. My cancer did not show up in my lungs but was present in the pleural effusions that they aspirated though thoracentesis (1 liter off the left and 0.5 L off the right). I am now on Femara and will soon be taking IBrance as well. I do get bouts of severe asthma and do have oxygen (which I have not had to use lately). I have a cough most of the time, but have some days where things are not as bad. I am going to ask my oncologist about seeing a pulmonologist to see if that might help. My asthma meds don't seem to be doing a lot, except the Ventolin which is temporary relief. Does anyone else have issues with the treatments and asthma?

I have severe asthma, which led me to chose surgery over radiation for my DCIS. I don't have any advice for you, just my support. I hope that things are better for you and you're breathing easier now.
