Urgent Question! Chemo & Newborn Babies

Good morning!

My mom is currently doing her chemo treatments. My sister is due to give birth within the next 5 weeks. Someone told me that my mom wouldn't be allowed near the baby. Is this true? This would devestate mom if it were true.

    Good Morning Melanie I'm also going through chemo my youngest GD is 5 months old.

    I asked my MO the same question. According what he said was when the baby gets her or his first vaccination it's not safe for us to be around the baby because our compromise immune system.

    You r mother should ask this question to her MO....

    sometimes well meaning people say things like this one....

    It's a happy moment for your Mom. I will also be a grandma again in less than 8 weeks....

    good Luck...please update us if the DR things differently.
