Hi all. I go to pick out my implants next week and I really know so very little about it. I'd love to go in a bit educated if possible.

If you went with implants, what did you choose and why?

I didn't realize that there are different shapes - round, teardrop - what do people like?

Thanks very much for your input!

I went in not asking a lot of questions. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. I was tired of having to look up things, although maybe I should have to ask more questions since the implant will be with me for the next 10-20 years depending on how it behaves.

I went with the silicone, tear shaped mentor implant. My PS wanted tear shaped because he said it'd make me look more natural. I wanted to go for silicone because I heard with saline you can tend to see the ripples more in the bag.

Something I read about was that the tear drop implants can rotate. I like to workout, and I looked this up after, they say doing to many pec exercises like push-ups and bench presses can cause the implant to press out on the sides from the muscle pushing on it. That makes me really sad because I love to workout. Part of me is thinking I should have gone with the round implant.

Mine was really a choice of just letting my plastic surgeon decide. The breast looks natural, I'm just bummed about some of the workouts.

Have you checked out the implant sizing 101 thread? Good info there and if you supply some basic info on your TEs you'll get suggestions.

I let my PS pick the implants, but I'm a UMX so there is the matter of symmetry to deal with. I have Natrelle Inspira 600 on the MX side and a Natrelle 15 339 on the healthy side. Smooth moderate profile silicone.

I had saline implants over my pec muscles instead of TEs. I didn't like the sloshing, though they weren't totally filled so maybe that makes a difference. It's definitely more of a water balloon feel.

    Thanks Unbreakable and Calidancer,

Cali - I'll check it out.

My PS is trying to go straight to implant during the BMX, so hopefully I won't have tissue expanders.

We met this morning to select implants and he's recommending teardrop shaped mentor silicone implants.

    My surgery is this Thursday.
