Hi Everyone,

My doctor just told me he wants to start me on Abraxine instead of taxol. I just have my fourth infusion of AC today. I was wondering what side effects anyone has had and did it help shrink the tumor?

    Actually Abraxane is taxol just formulated to have fewer side effects. It has absolutely worked for me, actually twice, within 2-3 cycles. Of course, you lose your hair and over time you get fatigued. I took Emend so was not nauseated. My taste buds changed too, but more the first time I took it and not the second time. Some neuropathy, but not too bad. My nails turned grungy, but again, not too bad. Once I stopped, all the side effects reversed.

    All in all, it wasn't too bad and I'd do it again (and probably will).
