No family history but it seems to be contagious!

Just joking about being contagious but it has been a strange year. I was diagnosed and had first mastectomy in June. I was the first one in my family to have breast cancer. In November I asked for a diagnostic mammogram on the left due to my third case of mastitis in two years. I was diagnosed with cancer in that side. Since November a cousin was diagnosed, my mother-in-law and my sister in law!! There were 6 women at a family gathering in December and 3 of us had been diagnosed in the last 30 days!! What are the odds?!?

Wow, that's a lot of cancer!! In my family, myself, my mom, and my only sibling, my sister, were diagnosed within 3 years.

My sister and I have a genetic mutation, my mom does not, so it came from my dads side of family.

But you are not all blood relatives - so really strange!

bummer. I had two in one year too! What fun. Finally done with chemo.

Good luck to you and the rest of your family.
