Getting port out- what to expect?

I'm finally getting my port out in Tuesday. I thought it would be a simple one-day recovery deal but bc survivor girlfriend told me otherwise. How long was your recovery and what restrictions did you have?

It was a simple one-day recovery for me. No restrictions.

One day (after office procedure). I was a little sore and took it easy the next day. I was told to keep my arm exercise easy until it had a little time to heal.

Yes, I was a little sore too, but it was a good healing kind of sore. Although I was glad that I went with it, I had a lot of trouble with my port, and I was REALLY glad to get the damned thing out!

Yeah, the instant that tube was out I was profoundly more comfortable!

It was a very easy recovery for me. Same day surgery, sedation, home in about three hours, maybe less.

Like ksusan, my port caused me pain and discomfort immediately upon insertion, so I was relieved to have it removed.
