When to star Chemo

How long does it takes to start Chemo after surgery? Is there a time frame to start? I am having problems with a seroma after Mx and I am worried it will delay when do I start my chemo if I need it ( don't know jet). My surgery was 12/17/21

Usually they start chemo one month after surgery. And there were studies that it is best to start chemo within a certain time frame, if I remember correctly it was within 3 months after surgery. Maybe some one else can direct you to those studies. I hope your seroma clears quickly!

Mine started 5 weeks after surgery--both BS and MO agreed on this. I had BMX with 4 drains.

We are each different as are our Drs and our DX - there is no 'One Size Fits All'.

I had UMX 2 weeks after last neoadjuvant AC and started 12 weekly Taxol 3 weeks post UMX. My seroma developed after 2nd drain removed 4 weeks post surgery (a week after starting Taxol) and the seroma did not have any effect on my adjuvant Taxol infusions.

On top from everithing I am moving countries, had the surgery in Spain, the only reason I am still here is because I am waiting for my final path report, when I have it I will move to Brussels where my husband just started a new job, he has been there for a week.

I need to find a Oncologist in Brussels, send him all the info that I have so I can start the treatment the moment I arrive there.

my seroma made my stiches open, can I start chemo with an open wound? My surgeon is going to close it, but it has been 1 month already since my surgery and I am worried it's going to take too long to dtart treatment. What about hormonsl theraphy
