Cold caps anyone?

Had my first oncology consult yesterday and the nurse is really encouraging the cold caps to decrease hair loss. Her experience was that three of her patients that used it had minimal hair loss. That's not quite the sampling that makes me think it's worth the money. Insurance will not pay. Does any one have any additional information or experience. She also gave me the name of the salesman but of course he will say only good things.

    Hi sandcastle. It's great that your oncology team introduced you to cold caps. Yes, they work. There's a very active thread on here filled with advice, tips and pictures from women who have used or are currently using cold caps. Search for "cold cap users past and present".

    The cost seems prohibitive at $3000.00 for my 6 treatment regimen. Does anyone know the percentage of women whose hair does not grow back with Taxotere?
