Swimming with an implant

I used to swim for exercise, but since I got my implant, if I try to swim I'm sore in my chest muscles. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if I start very slowly and build up laps, will the soreness go away? My surgeon said the chest muscles hold in the implant, so he's not surprised that there might be some discomfort.

I find the soreness disproportionately unsettling. Intellectually I know it's just caused by exercise, but emotionally it feels like "something is wrong" in a more worrying sense.

I do more water aerobics than laps, however, I did notice tightness in my chest in the beginning. I am 3 years out of reconstruction of both breasts, and currently I feel very little soreness or tightness during water activities. I had "Lat. flap" reconstruction on one side, and I sometimes get a muscle cramp on that side if I overdo my exercise.
