i've done a lot of thinking and I'm at the point where I need a therapist to sort all this out. I'm already guilty of preparing for my death, when my husband talks about next New Year's I already envision being gone. I'm early stage so realistically this isn't the case, I just need someone to talk me into it, I guess. Any suggestions would be great

Have you checked with your treatment center or oncologist? Is there a social worker at your center? They may be able to put you in touch with a psych who specializes in cancer patients. My onc. putme in touch with such a person.

To give you some hope, and perspective, I have been stage IV for over 4 years. Still going strong, with plans to be here for next New Year's Eve, and many more! Take care and happy New Year.

My situation is a little funny, my oncologist is actually an hour away. I moved right after seeing my OB for the lump in the first place, and rather than switch mid-stream I kept seeing the original docs with the hope that eventually it'll all be over and I can change to someone closer. I'm going to check out a support group next week to see what that's about, and keep posting here which has been way more helpful than I originally thought it would be. Thanks for the insight. It's hard to keep your head up after a dx but I'm trying. Everyone here has been kind enough to answer even my most depressing, self-pitying concerns, ha.
