CA27.29
my onc tests my CA27.29 every 3 months. It usually is a 10 or 12 even when I had my nasty 2.8cm tumor. In September it was less than 3.5, but this month it was 19. I know this is still below normal, but should I be concerned? Is it normal for this tumor marker to fluctuate? I see my onc on the 12th and will discuss, but this has been bothering me since I got the results. I also get the CEA test done and it's always been less than .5
Thanks for any info

My tumor marker levels bounce around. My MO told me not to worry, they're all within the limit. What a long wait between getting your results and talking to your doc!

thanks! My original appointment was on dec 15 th but they called and asked if they could give my appointment to someone who really needed treatment. I couldn't say no so then I couldn't get in for a month. Oh well!

What has been your highest score? I have had 2 dx with IDC Stage 0 Grade 3 the first time. Stage 1a Grade 2. Tumor was a T1b. Oncotype score of 9. No Chemo. on the second round.
My CA 27.29 was always around 0 and in September it went up to 41 a year and 3 months after the DX. Dr had me do a CT scan and Bone scan which came back "okay." My cousin is triple negative and she had completed chemo 2 years ago and her markers were up to 48 on the 27.29. She just had a PET scan and is now Stage 4, back to fighting and has maybe 3-5 years.
I think the concern here is what is your numbers doing. Mine were at 0 and then shot up to 41. That was the concern. Not that the number was out of the normal range. Someone could have a score of 100 and not have cancer.
I will be interested in seeing the numbers in Feb. If they drop back down or if they go up higher than 41. If they go higher or have stayed higher I may ask for an MRI.

19.7 (this last one) is my highest score. Back in September it was less than 3.5 and all the other times before that (I think there were 4) it has been either a 10 or a 12. I see my onc next week so I will discuss with her and I many ask for another test.
