Just trying to comprehend the path report

So benign, so that's fabulous. Now, trying to decipher the hieroglyphics that are in the pathology report. "Scanty fragments of Sclerotic Breast Tissue with Focal Usual Ductal Hyperplasia." Looks Greek to me. Anyone know what that means, as far as risk factors for future occurances, etc.?

Pretty much "aging breasts" as far as I can tell. Neither thing is an increased risk factor that I know of. Sclerotic breast tissue is a "hardening" of tissue generally associated with fibrosis (fibrocystic breasts) and usual hyperplasia is just a build-up of cells in the ducts.

Seriously, the (sclerosing) adenosis is what can look like cancer on imaging but turns out to be no big deal.

No, I appreciate it! This is like a crash course in medical terminology. Legalese I get, medical not so much. It's nice to have people who are going through the same thing break it down in layman's terms!
