Itchy between implant and skin

I had a total skin-sparing BMX 8/18 and then had my exchange surgery 11/13. Just the last week or so I've been getting an intense itching sensation on my right side. It feels like it's itchy between the skin and the implant if that makes sense. There is no rash and I don't have any surface sensation so scratching it doesn't really do any good. I don't see any signs of infection and I'm not worried it's any weird complication...I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and if so, how long does it last? I would imagine it's probably just part of the healing process but it's really irritating!
