14 year survivor!
For those of you who didn't see my post on the Stage 4 forum, Dec 16 started my 14th year since being dx'd with Stage 4 BC. My recurrence started about 5 years ago.
Still kicking! Currently on Kadcyla.

happy you are kicking with us!!! Enjoy your holidays and every single day.

Thank you so much for sharing! I stay out of the stage IV forums to respect the privacy of all there, but I so appreciate hearing stories such as yours. I am at high risk of metastasis, so stories like yours give me so much hope! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and many, many more happy holiday seasons!
-
Wahoo - -I love these stories

-
I remember you from the Kadcyla thread. Your story gave me so much hope that there is life after Stage IV, should it happen to me. Thanks for checking in and I hope Kadzilla is treating you OK
-
Kadcyla is a lot easier than most chemos, and since I have been on chemo for 14 years, it is hitting me harder.
But it is tolerable. You learn to adapt....
-
Denny, how often are your transfusions?
-
Denny123 - Congratulations, thank you for sharing this wonderful news! Wishing you a happy holiday season and continued stable health in years to come. Sending good thoughts.
-
SueH-I get Kadcyla by IV every 3 weeks.
-
Denny - Hugs and good wishes are with you for another 14 years and many more!!!

Denise- congratulations!!! Thank you so much for posting this. It really is imspiring. Yiuve helped a lot of people. We don't see enough women coming after long survivorship to post. Myself included. I was 10 years out until last summer, and realize that I could have provided inspiration to others over the years and didnt. Wont happen again! I'm going to share your story with a close friend who was recently diagnosed stage iv. Again...thank you and best wishes!
-
hi Denny. That's great news. I just got diagnosed with liver and bone mets. I had TNBC. Tell me a little about your story and do you think it's worth it. Thanks
-
Thanks Bail. I am brain-dead-what is TNBC?
-
Denny123-
Thank you for sharing your story!
-
Denny, thanks for the positivity. Always great to hear long term survival stories.
-
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I just had a liver. Iopsy and have some spots on my bones. Going for a second opinion and then will de idea what chemo is right? What chemo did you start with
-
HI Bail. I have Her2 Neu +++ so we would have different chemos. But there are a ton of useful ones out there.
I had Gemzar with Herceptin. You probaby won't get Herceptin, but I think Gemzar is an option. Those 2 put my liver in remisssion after 9 months.
-
I wish they had a "like" button here like Facebook does. My ten year anniversary will be in May. Stage four her2+ pr/er+.
-
I'm more of a lurker on these boards, but was diagnosed at 38 with stage iv right off the bat. I have 3 young kids that I am fighting for. I am triple positive as well. Your post just gave me so much hope! Thank you!
-
Denise,
Thanks for sharing. Hope you see 24 and 34 years too.

Thanks ! Me too!
-
Denise - thank you for sharing. I was originally diagnosed with stage 1 BC in 2014. I got my stage 4 diagnosis 2 days ago (bone mets). Been searching for positive stories to give me hope. There don't seem to be many people with HER2+ with such a great outcome. I wish you all the best with your treatment and hope to see you on here for a good many years to come. Thank you
-
Thanks cath! I also wish you good health!

Hi cath3rine. I just received my bone mets Stage IV diagnosis 6 days ago. We are true newbies. Hoping you and I are here 14 years from now encouraging new Stage IV ladies.
-
I just came from my doctors office. Just diagnosed with stage IV lung mets. They are talking about radiation if possible to shrink the tumor as it has gotten pretty painful then Kadcyla every three weeks. I will be setting up an appointment for a 2nd opinion but want to start treatments asap. I am so scared and upset but after reading this board I am actually feeling a bit better.
-
themomoo...good luck!
Denise
-
Absolutely DebK227. Best of luck themomoo.
-
Thanks for posting. Congrats on many more!
-
Cath3rine, DebK, and themomoo, Sorry you ladies find yourselves dealing with stage IV diagnosis. Wishing for you all that the treatments keep the cancer at bay for years and years to come.
-
Hi Denny123
That's fantastic! So happy for you and long, long, long may this last.
I was first diagnosed stage 3 in 2011 but now stage 4: diagnosed in April this year with liver mets. I too have been scouring the Internet for great news like yours
-
Thanks for the kind words. Gemzar with Herceptin got rid of my liver mets 12 years ago and they have not returned.
Good luck!
