Hello!

Before I go any farther let me say that I have left a message containing my questions with the nurses station at my PCP. I am currently awaiting a callback.

My diagnosis was fibroadenoma. I just don't know what some of the things on the report mean and I was hoping someone could clarify it for me.

The first thing I noticed is that all of the descriptions are under "gross examination". All that's under "microscopic examination" is this:

Unless gross ONLY is specified, the final diagnosis for each specimen is based on a microscopic examination of representative sections of tissue. CODE: 0

Does that mean only a gross examination was done? What does CODE: 0 mean?

In the gross examination section it says:

The specimen is entirely submitted in a single cassette. Levels x 1.

What does that mean? Levels?

Lastly, this statement is one I don't understand at all:

Breast prognostic panel results may not be optimal and should be repeated on additional tissue as available.

What in the world does that mean???

Has anyone had similar statements on their reports?
