medical marijuana

Hello! I'm wondering, did anyone run into any difficulty obtaining a medical marijuana card? I will be meeting my medical oncologist for the first time next week and am not sure how to approach this topic with him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I live in CT where medical marijuana is legal. Many thanks

I live in CA, where it is also legal, for medical purposes. When I was diagnosed, the social worker in the oncology offices asked if I needed a card. I said not yet, but maybe down the road. So, in CA it is quite easy. Just ask

I'm in Washington state where it's legal medically and recreationally and I had a hard time getting approval. I asked my regular oncologist, naturopathic oncologist, and regular doctor and they all said no, they don't do that. I had to pay out of pocket to see a certain doctor twice before I got the approval paperwork (it's not a card here, it's a form).

In case anyone's wondering why I didn't just buy it at the recreation shops, they didn't have medicinal items like Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), and most of what they have is for smoking (which I won't do), plus expensive. The medical shop I go to gives RSO free to cancer patients.
