Lump discovered while on chemo
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me with this. I'm here for the first time and this is my story (I'll try to be short, and please excuse my english).
I found out that i have breast cancer in june this year. It was in my right breast, and it was 2cm, clear nodes, triple negative, so stage 2a. After surgery in june I started chemo in jully. Will not go into detailes but I ended up with only 2 a/c (tm rising) after that i recieved 6 taxoters, and tm level was going down all the time, from 62 to 32 (31 is normal in my lab, and I still wait to se results of the last therapy that was week ago).
So, the problem is - when i had cancer surgery, they also removed 2cm fibroadenoma from other breast. Now I'm in panick because I think I can feel the lump again, where fibroadenoma was. To be honest I didn't check my breasts during this period, so I don't know if maybe this can have something to do with removing fibroadenom. I had an ultrasound 5 weeks ago, and all they told me was that there are a lot of cysts in both breasts. But I had them before as well.
I called my doctor and she told me not to worry, and that I can have ultrasound again next week if that is going to make me feel better. But I'm still somehow upset, because it felt like that time when I discovered that terrible lump for the first time.
Am I crazy to worry so much?

Martha of course your not crazy. This is scary stuff. I encourage you to go ahead and get the ultrasound for peace of mind. However I think there is a really good chance what you are feeling is scar tissue where you had the fibroadenoma removed. Good luck and keep us posted....

Thank you so much for answering right away! I'll do that for sure, just wanted to know is it possible that new cancer grows up during chemo, even nothing was seen on ultrasound month ago?

MarthaMo, we second what dtad said, as it is important to see if the chemotherapy is effective. We're thinking of you!

Thank you Moderators! It is just that I don't have a reason not to believe my dr, because she is an extremely cautious person, but still... The fear suddenly became so overwhelming that I decided to check on the internet, although I avoided that since my dx. So I have found this forum and I like how people here comunicate, and I decided to ask if someone had expirience with such an early recurrence on different breast, and of course I'll do ultrasound as soon as possible.
