DH and I volunteered for a clinical trial at a local cancer center -- they are looking for a control group of former smokers as a baseline for a lung cancer study. CT scans, a little blood, some sputum, and we get a 50 dollar gift card. OK!

Day before yesterday, the lead researcher calls (he is very nice, and also the lead on on the study)

There is something small in my lung, and of course, they have to check this out. Thing that they really wanted to know was,of course, did I have a copy of my scans from when I was in treatment? Well, no, because I was stage 1. But, I call rad onc'so office .

The dosimetrist was able to pull a CT image from my radiation simulation, and they supplied that

Oh man! Of course you'd get a little bit of angst thrown in for good measure. It's the gift that keeps on giving! Waiting with you for the "it's nothing" results.

Well, looks pretty good. We will be doing a follow-up CT scan in a few months, and I am going to see a pulmonologist, but this is all gravy.
