Has anyone had reconstruction at john Hopkins or in Chicago?

I will be a delayed recon. I am a year out and 6 months from chemo and the deepest darkest sadness hit me today. I am mad I have no breast at 42 and I have a rare form of aggressive cancer and scared I won't see my 5 and 8 year old grow up. My body looks so foreign and my mind is just sad. Has anyone had delayed recon in Chicago or at john Hopkins - maybe if I didn't have to look at this giant mastectomey scar I wouldn't think of cancer every day

    I did not have delayed reconstruction and had the beginning of my surgeries in Michigan. I only had my last surgery in Chicago with Dr. Fine at Northwestern. He did areola grafts and nipples for me and he was awesome. Hop on the Illinois Ladies thread....you can get a lot of Chicago recommendations for doctors. Great group of ladies there will answer your questions.
