I just had my uni mx left no recon and bought swim tops on lands end. They always have coupons/sales/codes. I figured I just need tops bc I can use my bottoms. Google for codes or if you sign up you will get emails all the time. Worth the savings...and you can return at any Sears

I think I'm going to purchase one of these one-piece suits from Old Navy and go completely flat in it. The scallop thing is in this year. Plus the black color will hide the fact I'm now a little bit concave on both sides after 9 months' healing post BMX. And I love that it's feminine but sporty with a high neck, high near arms in the front to cover my scars, but it's low in the back so it's not too frumpy. I'm going to order it and try it on and hope that with the tie neck I can pull it up and tight enough to not hang loose against my flat chest. I don't think I could have gotten away with this suit if I had a large chest, but no need to worry about that anymore! If I worry about my rear end, I'll get a sarong wrap to tie around the waist and be styling!

The photo is from last June. This is a combo that has worked well for me. The top provides 50+ sun protection.

I'm thinking I'll get one of these ruffly one pieces from Target too. If I go flat, I'm wondering if it'll be too loose around the under arm and chest, especially if I lean forward ? There's only one way to find out! It says Aqua Green, but I'm looking at black, coral, or blue.

Saw a lot of other options at Target online, including a suit with stripes that go in both directions to hide flaws, and 2 peices with high neck and patterns that also hide/distract from any imbalance or flatness. Here are some ideas for not-mastectomy suits

KSusan, that's a great swim outfit! I've been looking at the rashguard tops. I, too, am fair-skinned and easy to burn without my SPF 50+!

This summer my 4 year old needs to learn to swim. We'll enroll him in swim lessons, but I want to take him to the local pool or the beach too. He doesn't really like getting in the water to play yet. And I want to be ready to get out there - "flat and fabulous"! Ready to teach him how to love water play!

Works for swimwear. Waterproof, use existing swimwear.

I still haven't found anything comfortable. I should have tried the Land's End tank suit in a bigger size maybe. I have tried all the tankinis and some other styles and the bras built into them hurt my scars.  And I don't wear prostheses at all so the bras serve no purpose. Maybe one of those quick drying t-shirts next....

I lifeguard every summer season and am not giving up my summer money for cancer. I start chemo the day before pool season begins. Since I have to be careful of the sun, I am getting a heat gear long sleeve shirt from under armour. I am used to wearing compression shirts because of sports and they are really comfortable. Since I am a manager, I don't have to get in the water unless necessary, but I usually stay in the water in the shallow end with the kiddies. I have some running shorts I got on sale from nike that have compression shorts made into them that I wear also. They are very light and dry quickly. I also have my big floppy hat. Oh by the way, I live in Mississippi with heat and humidity.

I had a bilateral mastectomy three weeks ago with Tissue expanders inserted.

We make them with yarn that dries faster and use different stuffing materials depending on whether you are an active swimmer or casual wearer. I was very surprised to find out there are practically no swimsuit options for someone who has chosen to go flat. I very rarely wear my prosthetics, and there is NO WAY that I'm going to wear them while swimming. Please, any suggestions, specifically for more modest suits?

trekmiss, did you see the bathing suit top / tankini topI posted about (with photo) earlier in this thread? It's by a woman who's etsy shop is named modernly modest and has no bra or cups or pockets or any of that annoying stuff . And she has loads of fabrics to choose from if you don't like the particular one I picked .

Edited to add - the other etsy shop I considered but haven't ordered from yetwas creationsbysavannah, hers are nice, and modest, too and I may try one next year as the budget allows.

I went to Marshall's after no success shopping at some other stores, not feeling hopeful. I felt the inside of bathing suits on the rack. Some of the soft cups were soft and small with virtually not scratchiness on the edges.  I tried a bunch on and three were not scratchy and did not hurt my scars. And the cup bras are so small that it doesn't look empty or strange. I got a black skirt suit with white piping. It will be 90+ today so happy I found it.
