2nd treatment tomorrow

Options

My first treatment two weeks ago felt like a breeze. I had no nausea, didn't even take anything. The only problem I had was really bad back pain for about a 24 hour period, probably from the Neulasta. I'm worried about the second and third ones. Is it after the second one that I'll start feeling sick and tired all the time? I want to work as much as possible and I'm hoping that this doesn't disrupt my way of life and regular routine. Am I deluding myself since the first one didn't affect me? Or do I need to prepare mentally and/or physically in some way to be able to face what is coming after the second treatment. I'm prepared for the hair loss as I've been collecting hats and scarves and also purchased a couple of chemo beanies. Please help me prepare for what I'm about to face.

I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant and it did not slow me down at all. My 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant were not 'nice' at all! I was completely and utterly EXHAUSTED the entire time but started better a week after last one even though I started Rads a week after last Taxol and continued to be better daily.

I never had any nausea even after I stopped taking any 1/2 way through Taxol. I have been told at the time (though there was no proven medical research at the time) that for some, it appears that what you experienced with Morning Sickness can (in some cases) be a predictor of what will be experienced with Chemo. I had absolutely no Morning Sickness with either of my sons.

Neulasta can cause pain but taking Claritan is supposed to help. The only 'thing' I experienced with Neulasta during A/C was that, almost to the minute, 2 hrs after injection I would go to sleep for 2 yrs and wake up as if 'nothing' had gone on.

I know they say it is cumulative and will get worse, but I can't say that happened to me. I was pretty darn good the whole time and was pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

Two hours almost to the minute. I'd better be home, cause I HAD to sleep. Didn't have bone pain, all the ladies here say the non drowsy Claratin helps with it. Try taking it before the injection, maybe that would lessen or stop any SE.

Sorry Spookiesmom - did remember that there was somone else here who had also had the 'nighty night' (gone to sleep) 2 yrs (almost to the minute) after each Neulasta but didn't remember who. I didn't have any pain either.
