Radiation fibrosis and scar tissue. I sure appreciate all of the good thoughts. It was nice to finally get some good news!
-
Whew .. . Thank goodness. Whew. So glad to hear that. Now enjoy your holiday.
-
I have been following...so pleased for you good news!! Merry Christmas!!
-
Karen, I've just stumbled across this but am sorry for all you've been through recently and glad to hear it's RF and scar tissue. Getting good news for a change makes a world of difference!
BTW - my RF started within a month of finishing radiation and I'm still working on it. It takes time, so don't get too discouraged if progress is slooooow.
-
Hurray for scar tissue!! So happy to hear your news KBeee!!
-
whew, thank you for updating. What's sad about this beast is that the fears are always hovering. My friend (stage 4) got a clear scan a week ago and celebrated with champagne. She went on to have the worst week ever psychologically.
I hope you can relax and enjoy the season and ignore the evil phantom. xox

Just wondering how you the fibrosis feels? My PS thinks I have a good shot at getting it.

KBeee... Congratulations and so happy for you. Thank you for sharing your experience.... I just had a 'concerning' ultrasound this morning where the doctor is recommending biopsy of lymph node and other area that may or may not be scar tissue. I am sooo scared that it's back after 3 yrs. I only told my husband and doctor who is calling in my attivan as I type this. Now I have have to fake everything is great for the holidays.... Ugh. I am focusing on your good news.... God bless you

I did not tell my kids because I did not want to worry them since they have s lot of exams this week. That was very hard. I barely slept, and did not eat too much over the past 3 weeks of worry. I finally slept soundly last night. When the radiologist called me yesterday, she did say that she was concerned with some of what she saw on the ultrasound during the biopsy. I had s local recurrence already and did fine, but if it had come back again so soon, it would have been a whole different situation which really stressed me out. When is your biopsy, 7of9? Hoping all comes back benign. The radiologist told me that you really cannot clearly differentiate scar tissue from cancer on ultrasound.

kbee. Just saw the post on your results. So happy its not a reoccurrence. May you find Peace and joy this season my friend. Go enjoy those kids!

My biopsy is currently not until Jan 7! My nurse is trying to get is scheduled sooner at a different Cleveland Clinic facility or main campus. The ultrasound doctor was very concerned but did say there is a slim chance it could be scar tissue...also a couple lymph nodes in the area are enlarged but they were like that when I was originally diagnosed and I tested negative for lymph nodes when I had surgery. My son is only 6.....:( I am heartbroken and so upset for my husband and can't even think of how this will / could bring down my wonderful supportive 69 year old mother who lost her brother the year before I was diagnosed and my dad two weeks after my surgery. She just got settled in a wonderful newer condo and said she is finally "happy" this fall. What a train wreck....it's like watching it all fall apart in slow motion. Really hope this attivan kicks in or I can somehow make it to tonight and take a full strength ambien and forget this day even happened. I have a call in and will be going to the Gathering Place next week (local support group)....help!!!!!
-
2 weeks is my max wait. If I am given a date longer than that, I tell them to book it, but give me names of alternate locations I can get it done. I tell them I plan to call around and try to get on somewhere else sooner. And then I do call around. They tend to magically find better dates. No way you should have to wait until January. Absolutely not! Keep us posted.
