I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed already, I did a search but had a hard time navigating through it (I'm new to this forum). I had a double mastectomy In July and have expanders. My PS wants to put in gummybear tear drop silicone gel implants (495cc) and do fat grafting at the same time from my tummy. I'm really concerned about the grafting...is it necessary? I don't want the extra pain either and don't know what it will look like or will it all just get reabsorbed? Can anyone tell me their stories of having both (good and bad)? Also does it change your tummy, I've never had lipo nor ever wanted to. Thank you!

I just had exchange surgery with fat grafting a few weeks ago. I can see a difference in my abdomen where he took the fat from. The places in the breast where he put the fat were sort of lumpy looking at first but are starting to even out and look good now. I still have a lot of places where the skin is very thin and you can see a lot of rippling so I will probably need more fat grafting.

I have a follow up next week and I'm going to ask about any alternatives to fat grafting. Not because I'm not happy with the results, but because I really don't have a lot of extra fat and it seems like I will need more filling than I've got fat.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the tummy was very sore after the surgery. I'd say the tummy was more painful than the breasts but it wasn't unbearable. I also had some swelling in the belly but compression undergarments for a few weeks helped with that
