It is now day 2. I am still in shock over my diagnosis. I am 39 and was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago. Can someone tell me how long side effects last after treatment? Today I feel nauseous and weak. My legs and arms feel weak but slightly getting better. This whole thing has been so scary and unfortunate or fortunately I do know anyone in my life who has had breast cancer so I am hoping this forum will help.

Thanks all.

Hi! Glad you found this place, you will likely find it very helpful. I suggest that you join the "starting chemo in December" thread as you will then be able to talk with people who are going through the same thing at the same time. Also, don't hesitate to peek in on earlier groups to see what they went through. I haven't had AC so I can't tell you exactly, but side effects usually last 4-5 days or could even be longer depending on the treatment and the person. It is important to follow the medication schedule your doctor gave you, and it is also important to eat well, sleep, and move around. There are other threads about chemo side effects etc, so look around and I am sure you will find a lot of information that will help you.
