Chemo Or Hormone ?

- Age: 57 years

- Status: A malignant Tumor in the left breast

1 _ 7 months ago it was discovered a malignant tumor in the left breast, according to the next report of Mammogram Ray .

_ 2 Then Dr. surgery tumors said that it needed to treat chemotherapy to shrink the tumor size,In addition he Order taking and analysis of core bx of the tumor .The result report of tumor analysis as following :

3 _ Based on the result described above, doctor identified 6 doses of chemotherapy is divided into 3 doses of FEC plus 3 doses of Taxotere ,,, note that the doses were dose every 21 days .

4 _ After it was performed ultrasound examination of the tumor and the report was as follows :

5 _ Surgery was performed 30 days ago and was a full mastectomy and lymph nodes under the armpit .The Pathology result for them as follows :

6 _ After completion of the surgery and follow-up preventive treatment based on pathologic analysis attachment in the previous point Dr. tumors reported that preventive therapy will be a Hormone treatment from drug Arimidex for 5 years, he also stressed that there is no scientifically any action permitted to give more chemo as has already been give six full doses before surgery and this maximum doses could be taken from the chemo treatment in breast cancer , also added that the hormone treatment will be better because the hormone receptor is good as the protective effect would be much better than chemo .Note the menstrual period have been stoped for a year.

Counseling :

During the periodic examination of the surgery, Dr. said that must take chemo doses not hormones doses for Preventive treatment as specialist tumors intimal decided in point 6, due to the presence of tumor in 20 gland lymph by pathology report attachment in point 5,,, and now I request you to advise me on the following : -

A _ Do you really can not scientifically what states to give preventive chemotherapy doses to where they were taking 6 doses previously they limit in breast cancer?

B _ Depending on the pathology and hormone receptor resault report attachment in point 5 , Is it better to follow the preventive treatment hormones or chemotherapy ?

C _ If hormone therapy is the best preventive treatment , Arimidex is good?

D _ If chemo therapy is the best preventive treatment , what is the protocol that you recommend it?
