Positive lymph nodes after MRI and ultrasound showed none?

I am worried about lymph involvement especially since my surgery was delayed- although my BS said it took a long time to grow and another few weeks won't change anything. He said my MRI and ultrasound were clear but not to depend on that. I am nervous now especially since I have read about micromets on BCO. Do they show up on ultrasound or MRI? All this extra time just gives me more time to think.

That's what happened to me. Ultrasound and MRI showed clear nodes, but then after surgery one of my sentinel nodes had a micromet of 1.5mm. MRI can pick up things starting at 4-5mm in size; I'm not sure about ultrasound.

So I'm not the only one! Nothing on MRI, PET etc but positive node found. Good thing I went with the mastectomy vs lumpectomy due to multiple tumors in same breast. Turned out I have two different subtypes of cancer, one slow one fast.

My scans were clear and then after surgery pathology results found out 1 sentinel node had a macro met of I think 6mm (can't remember exact size right now). Was quite shocking to me after all the imaging and being reassured nodes looked fine.

I too was told nodes clear. At sx they found micromets in the SN.
