Lumpectomy

I am scheduled for my lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy for Nov 27th. I am not nervous at all about the surgery, however, I am terrified of the results ofvthe biopsy. How bad is it to have positive nodes with a grade 3 tumor? Does this mean I am doomed?

    No, you are not doomed!

Until after surgery (and the receipt of the final post-surgery pathology report) you won't even know what stage you're at! (Have you been conflating Stage & Grade in your worrying? That happens sometimes.) Once you've got the surgical report and the final pathology reports they will "stage" your tumor, you'll be able to make more plans with your medical team about how best to treat your BC. Radiation? chemo? hormonals? more surgery? There are a lot of things that can be used.

So. No doom. (And please try to stop the gloom...distract yourself. Make cookies for the holidays. Write journal entries. There is nothing you can do right now, so stop obsessing about it. When you find your mind going there, just say to yourself:

I have a good medical team,

I have a good next step scheduled, and I have done everything I can,

Nothing I do (or don't do) will change anything...

    So let it go.

    HTH,
