Just to clarify. Many of the questions have been about the edible portion of the plant, but originally I was really looking for the name of the plant. As the questions have come in, I think it will be easier if I accept either the edible portion or the plant name as the answer.

LOfL, and all, the edible portion is not green at any point, as in it does not ripen as such.
