Help. I am just 2 weeks post mastectomy and tissue expander placement. 2 nights ago, my hubby noticed significant changes when he was doing my dressing change and drain care. One side looks to be healing okay, the other side where the cancer was, and a few lymph nodes removed, looks really concerning. I developed a small black necrotic looking area above the incision, and then above that there is an area where the skin just looks like it is missing, open and oozing blood. There are also areas where the skin looks to be coming off, but with some fairly healthy skin underneath. I emailed photos to my BS and PS yesterday. They started me on an antibiotic and I see my PS this afternoon. I am freaking out on the inside. Does anyone has experience with this??
