I am 44 years old finnish woman who was diagnosed BC recently. I had my mastectomy in October and am now only in Tamoxifen. My onc asked me to remove my hormone IUD. I also reduce my alcohol beverage to minimum (1/2-1 portion per day). I dont know which one of these or all together had a great impact to my sexdrive. My husband is positively astonished. I have my suspicion that it may be the Intrauterine device (IUD) with progestogen. I had it over 20 years. How about you others?

I am curious what you are using for birth control since you had the IUD out? My BS wanted the IUD out, my ONC and my GYN said I didn't need to and with Tamox my GYN actually suggested I keep it in to reduce the possibility of a thickened lining. So, I haven't taken it out. I am considering taking it out and getting a tubal ligation. I'm 44 and we are done having kids. Other option would be a hysterectomy as I've got at least one known fibroid which may get bigger while I'm on Tamox...

I'd be interested if my sex drive would go up if I took out the IUD. We've gotten back to a pretty normal routine though I thought as did my hubby that I wouldn't want to have sex anymore at all. I think there may be something freeing for me with regard to body image-- as in I don't have to worry about being porn star perfect any more? Not sure, working that out in my head. My drive comes in spurts.
