Pathology same or different
So for everyone who's had a recurrence, what was your pathology each time? (I know we can see it in signature line, but it would be interesting to compare)... Curious who else's changed.
2013: ER+, PR+, HER2-, low oncotype:16, did not do Ki67
2015: tumor 1: ER+, PR-, HER2-, oncotype 40, Ki67: 20
2015 tumor 2: ER+, PR -, HER2-, did not do oncotype, Ki67: 40

2015- triple negative but now metaplastic

Left Breast: 2009: IDC triple negative er 0% PR 0% her2 0. Grade 3. Left breast no oncotype aggressive cancer mastectomy
Right Breast: 2010: dcis and other assorted abnormalities found during prophylactic mastectomy, many tumor types, a little necrosis, most of the dcis was under 2 mm, scattered. Some was grade 3, some grade 1. All samples tested were er+, highest er+ was 90%. Right breast
Right Breast/Take 2: 2015: metastatic breast cancer in a single node, not sure what kind (ILC or IDC) because testing is more difficult once it leaves the primary site, wherever that was. Er 95% PR 50% her2 1. Oncotype testing unreliable on cancer in lymph nodes because of presence of lymphocytes in the testing sample drives up the score. Guessing this cancer is not real aggressive (I hope it isn't!!!) because the node stayed roughly the same size over the course of months (was 3.2mcm at first measurement and 3 cm at surgery, but it was a lymph node so it still was reactive) , plus the cancer remained encapsulated in the node with no extra capsular extension. Doing chemo now as a precaution. Completed matectomy

2010 left breast triple positive ICD and also ER+ PR+ HER2- ILC mastectomy
2015 right breast triple negative ER 0 PR 0 Her2- Ki67 80% having a mastectomy next week.

Feeling stunned.

2012 - ER both 95% Her neg... Don't know Oncotype, did neo adjunct dose dense AC T. Double mastectomy with two axillary nodes tested negative.... Lie!!! Came back in nodes in armpit 3 1/4 yrs later.... same ER95% now HER neutral. Waiting on Oncotype. I didn't miss a day of my tamoxifen either! I think the neo adjunct got me the clear margins but didn't get all the crap that had starting moving to the nodes...

2014 Er+Pr+ Her2-, loccal reccurence in axilary tail in 2015 Er+ Pr+ Her2+.
First time 6 AC, this time weekly Taxol with Herceptin every 3 weeks.
My reccurence was in axilary tail, in breast tissue that was left over. It had all characteristics of cyst, so it was missdiagnosed for 6 months. It grew only 3 mm during that time and I insisted on FNA. I dont have any nodes in armpit, they took it out first time- 0/26.
I often ask doctors if this is a good thing that I didnt have any nodes (there was no vascular invasion second time), but nobody can give me answer for that.
I really hope that Ney Year will bring us better health. I had one more lump before Christmas, but it was benign.
Best wishes for all of you.
-
vfh, I had another lump before Christmas which was benign too... And I had to insist on biopsy for my recurrence because everyone was"sure" it was scar tissue.
7of9, I never missed adose on Tamoxifrn either. I am in Letrozole now, and hope it works better.
