Hi all,

I was diagnosed at the end of September, PR-, HER- and ER+ (14%). When I first met with my doc he referred to it as weakly positive but still positive. I had second round of chemo last Monday and I'm starting to feel kind of anxious. I guess I'm worried the drugs won't work as well as it's weakly positive??? Anyone else been in the same boat and have some input? I've been super anxious again the last few days :-(

Dreamcatcher28 my wife is a similar situation to yours, was confirmed with a biopsy in 08/2015, but when finished (12/2015) the first chemotherapy, with doxorubicin their lump reduced from 3 to 1 cm, now started a weekly chemotherapy with taxol, but appeared some bilateral micronodules lung, would be an early metastasis?

    Best regards !

    Your Carlos H. Nehring

Hi Dreamcatcher, the hospital I am treated at does not even report % positive on path reports. Everyone who is >10% ER+ is reported ER+ and recommended appropriate hormonal treatment. I don't know what my % ER+ is.

Professor50 found an interesting study about ER-positivity in relation to survival in ER-positive breast cancer treated by adjuvant tamoxifen, check this thread for the abstract: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/78/topics/839654?page=1#idx_8. However, the subjects in that study were all on the higher end of ER-positivity spectrum. Also, they were treated with tamoxifen as opposed to AIs that are nowadays the standard for post-menopausal women.
