Hi All,

I am new to these boards. I was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer on 8/1/14. I have undergone a mastectomy with axillary lymph node removal, 6 months of chemotherapy, 15 sessions of radiation and 1 year of herceptin for a clinical trial. I have been blogging about my experience as a young woman and mother with breast cancer throughout this process. I hope it's ok that I'm sharing my blog here. My hope has always been to strengthen our community with this blog and also be a place to share stories. Take a look if you are interested or pass it on.

Thank you!

Carrie - I made your link live. I wasn't sure how to do it until someone told me to hit return after the .com.

    Hugs!

Nice blog, thank you for sharing. I skimmed it, looked at most of your pictures, your baby is adorable! It just makes me sad that you had to deal with this so young and with such a young child but with that said, I hope that you are like Shirley Temple Black and you kicked the cancer to the curb and live a long happy life. Best wishes to you!

Thank you for the support. While raising a baby and going through cancer was difficult, for sure, there are many good things about it. It gave me a reason to get out of bed every day and smile. Even on my worst days, because of my son, I had some joy. Also, because he had to de al with a sick mama, he shows a great deal of empathy and caring for others at a very young age. We had our first parent/teacher conference at his pre-school and his teachers went on and on about how loving and caring he is. This makes me proud.

My son was 19 months old when I was diagnosed. I know how hard it must be for you. And having an infant as well...just wow. I hope some of my experiences can help you in some way. I have a contact page on my blog. Always feel free to vent, ask questions, whatever.

    Thanks for starting this thread!

I was diagnosed this past October and at the time my kids were 2.5 years and 4 months old!

It has been a struggle to say the least but they are such a huge source of joy for me so I feel like they have really kept me going!

    Stay strong ladies!!
