I have had a crazy journey like many of you! Weeks of testing and waiting....(oh the waiting). A routine mammogram found a grouped calcification in my right breast. I had both a diagnostic repeat mammogram and ultrasound. Then was scheduled for a sterotactic biopsy this past Monday (11/2). Just got result from that yesterday (11/6). The nurse that called said, "I have some good news and some bad news", Really?? The good news no cancer cells were found in the calcification grouping. However an intraductal papilloma was found and we would like you to see a breast surgeon. I feel so blessed to not have a cancer diagnosis at the present time but have googled the papilloma and some things say I am not "out of the woods" yet for possible cancer. The surgeons office is booked solid and don't know when I will be seen. Can anyone that has gone through this shed some light? I have read many times a surgical excision will be recommended - has anyone had this? I feel like I am right back at the begining of all this and my nerves are shot. Thanks for listening and offering any advice.
